Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 at an Olympic contest. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi later the Romanian gymnastics coach when she was only six years old. At first, she competed in the championships for juniors from Romania in the year 1969, she finished 13th. In 1970, she won. In her 1972 first international meet, which was an Olympic-style junior preolympic competition that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she took home three gold medals. In 1973 and 1975, she was crowned all-around Junior Champion. She took home four gold medals and one silver in her debut competition as a senior, held in 1975. It was the first time she participated as a senior. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976 becoming the first woman to perform a reverse double salto, which is dismounting from the uneven parallel bars. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol's career began in entertainment as a teenager. Her career began when she joined her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling performance. They featured ice skating shows which included stage performances.
