Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in Puy-de-Domme France on August 9 1976 the eldest child of four. The parents of Audrey Tautou as a dentist and teacher, were aware of and encouraged their daughter's love for acting and drama on the age of a stage novice. The support they provided was enough to thwart her initial desire to become the first primatologist. A quick and successful start to success as well as a swift increase in recognition made her a promising young actor. After her graduation in 1998, she was a participant in an French program for scouting talent on TV called Jeunes Premiers which was sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to beginning the journey to become an actor. Tautou was educated at Institut Catholique de Paris, was a churchgoer when she was a child and was brought up Catholic. She has now distanced herself with her Catholic upbringing. In addition to her acting career she also pursued modelling. The model was of L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and is known as "The Chanel Muse". Alongside her acting career she is also interested in photography. Recently, she exhibited a selection photos during Arles Film Festival. Arles Film Festival, under the title Superficial. Her photography is focused on famous people, the media and media that scrutinised her after her fame-making debut in the film Amelie. There are also numerous photographs of her self. Audrey Tautou became a star and was recognized internationally for her first role in Amelie Poulain in the film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie. Amelie has been undoubtedly a huge box office smash internationally and praised at many award shows around the world. Amelie is the top grossing French film on the market in US. Following this success Tautou starred in numerous films including British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's film Un long Sunday of fiancailles. She then moved to Hollywood under the direction of Ron Howard of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code alongside Tom Hanks.
